Erysipeloid
Definition
Erysipeloid is a type of dermatitis caused by bacteria.
Symptoms
Erysipeloid resembles erysipelas but tends to occur on the hands rather than the face. The hands generally appear red and swollen. The condition is often seen in fishermen and meat handlers.
Treatment
Antibiotics are usually the treatment of choice.
